Sequent Powers Ian Schrager’s New Edition on the Beach
People won’t just stay at Miami’s Edition Hotel, they will live there as well: Upon opening its doors, the Edition
will be the new home for those who choose to move in to one of the 26 residences at this exclusive
beachside location. Sotheby’s has chosen to partner with Sequent to ensure that the sale of these upmarket
condominiums runs smoothly.
Miami Beach FL. December 13, 2012//- The first Edition Hotel was built in Istanbul, the world’s second Edition
will come to stand in Miami. It is celebrity hotelier Ian Schrager’s latest project, developed in partnership with
Marriott and under architectural guidance from British designer John Pawson. And it features not just guest
rooms but also homes that are “dedicated to the good life,” said Schrager. “The hotel and residences make
staying in Miami really easy and effortless and make it the art of living rather than the job of living,” he said.
“To sell condominiums at a price per square foot of around $3,000 takes a lot of attention to detail,” said
Harvey Daniels, an Associate for Sotheby’s International Realty. This is why Sotheby’s has decided to use the
transaction management software Sequent Enterprise to help ensure no details fall through the cracks, and all
the involved parties know what they need to do next to complete the transaction.
Since its inception, Sequent Enterprise has facilitated over 15,000 closings. Using Sequent for transaction
management is increasingly becoming part of business best practices in any multi-unit urban infill development.
It allows the developer to pull pertinent pieces of information and full-fledged real-time reports throughout the
project. “We have tailored our software to the exact coordination needs of those involved in multi-unit
condominium developments,” said David Lester, CEO of Sequent Systems. “It gives us great gratification to see
that it helps get the prestigious Edition project off the ground as well,” he said.
The Edition development will include restaurants, a nightclub, a bowling alley and an ice skating rink. The
residences will be on the top two floors of the hotel and in a new 11-story building. Ian Schrager himself will be
owning one of the residences.
Sequent Systems has been at the forefront of cloud based real-estate transaction management since it first
launched its landmark Sequent Enterprise product, now used by condo developers and marketers world-wide.
The company was founded in 2002 by real estate professionals with decades of industry experience. Sequent
Enterprise quickly turned into the tool of choice for everybody working in multi-unit residential real estate. More
recently, Sequent Systems is also servicing the single-family home sale market with their latest real estate
transaction management tool, EZ Coordinator.
